Rum Cake Recipe

1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 box yellow cake mix
1 small box Instant French Vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
1/2 cup cold water
1/3 cup oil
1/2 cup dark rum

Icing:
1 stick butter or margarine
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark rum

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º

Grease bottom of 10 inch tube or 12 cup bundt pan. Sprinkle 1 cup pecans over bottom of pan. Mix all other ingredients together and pout over nuts in pan.

Bake for 70 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean in center

Cool for 10 minutes, Invert pan onto serving plate. Cool completely.

Make icing:
melt butter in small saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil for 5 minutes stirring constantly Stir in rum.

Prick top of cake with toothpick, gradually pour glaze over cake. Cover tightly and place in refrigerator tor 1-2 days before serving.
