1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
1 cup all purpose flour
7 Tbsp cocoa, divided
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 1/4 cups hot water

Preheat oven to 350º

In medium mixing bowl combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 3 Tbsp cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Blend in milk, melted butter and vanilla. beat until smooth. Pour batter into square 8x8x2 pan. In small bowl combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, and remaining 4 Tbsp cocoa; sprinkle mixture evenly over top of batter, do not stir .

Bake for 40 minutes or until center is almost set.

Let stand 15 minutes; spoon into dessert dishes, spooning sauce from bottom of pan over top. Garnish as desired.
