2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
¾ cup orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 egg, well beaten
1 ½ cups fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped
½ cup pecans, chopped

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 º Grease and flour a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
Stir in the orange juice, orange peel, melted butter and egg. Mix until well blended.

Stir in the cranberries and nuts. turn batter into prepared pan, filling about ⅔ full.

Bake for 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Run a butter knife along the edges of bread to free from the pan.

Brush with melted butter while still warm and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
