¾ c. unsalted butter, softened
½ c. crunchy peanut butter
¾ icing sugar
1 egg
½ tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted cake-and-pastry flour
½ tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
½ c. salted peanuts, coarsely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, beat together butter, peanut butter and sugar; beat in egg and vanilla.
In separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; with wooden spoon, gradually stir into butter mixture. Spread in lightly greased 9-inch square cake pan; press peanuts into dough. Bake at 350º oven for about 30 minutes or until firm in enter and edges are golden brown. Let cool on rack before cutting into squares
