Crust:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup butter
1 TSP baking soda

Filling:
2 eggs
1 c. packed brown sugar
½ tsp. almond extract
2 T. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. maraschino cherries, drained and coarsely chopped
½ c. pecans OR walnuts

Frosting:
¼ c. butter, softened
½ tsp. almond extract
2 c. icing sugar, sifted
3-4 tsp. milk or cream

Crust:
Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and baking soda in mixing bowl.
Cut in butter until crumbly. Press into prepared pan.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Filling:
Beat together eggs, brown sugar, and almond extract.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into egg mixture.
Mix well and stir in coconut, cherries, and nuts.
Spread evenly over crust.
Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely
Frosting:
Beat together all of the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
Spread over top. Chill until icing is firm, about 30 minutes, cut into bars.
