STEP 1:

Combine 1½ cups starter juice (from someone that has already made cake), 2½ cups sugar, 1 large can sliced peaches. Stir thoroughly and let stand for 10 days, making sure to stir every day.

STEP 2:

Add 1 large can chunk pineapples, 2½ cups sugar. Stir thoroughly and let stand for ten days, making sure to stir every day.

STEP 3:

Add 1 large can fruit cocktail, 1 jar red maraschino cherries, 1 jar green maraschino cherries, 2½ cups sugar. Sir thoroughly and let stand for 10 days, making sure to stir every day.

WHEN ADDING FRUIT BE SURE TO DRAIN

Makes 3 cakes or 6 loaves. Keep at room temperature. Put ingredients in a container with a lid, but don't seal. Don't refrigerate.

At the end of 30 days, drain fruit. Save the juice to start other cakes or to give to friends. Divide fruit evenly for cakes.

For each cake your need: 1 box pineapple cake mix, 1 box vanilla instant pudding, ⅔ cup oil and 4 eggs.

Beat until smooth all ingredients then fold in fruit and bake at 350º for 50-60 minutes.

Cakes turn out best if baked in loaf pans.
