2 cups warm water
1 tbsp yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup oil
4-5 cups flour

Top with:
Cinnamon
sugar
honey butter
jam
pie filling

Directions:
Directions:
Make the scones by combing water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let sit until well activated. Add remaining ingredients. and enough of the flour to form a nice soft dough. Knead for 5 minutes and let rise while you heat up the oil. Heat 1 1/2 in oil in a skillet until hot but not smoking. Break off pieces of the dough ( about the size of an egg) and stretch into circles. Fry scones on each side until brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve them with cinnamon and sugar, or honey butter.

This is what I always go for at the Fair. I like mine the size of both hands and dripping in honey butter.
