Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup butter (2 sticks) Challenge brand works best
5 Tbsp water
1 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan combine all ingredients. Cook stirring constantly to a light brown color and candy leaves the sides of the pan. Spread on a cold cookie sheet. ( put it in the fridge or freezer beforehand). turn the candy over once. Spread chocolate chips over it. cool and break.

This may fail on you fairly often. pulling the toffee off the stove at just the right time is key. But if it does fail just pop it back on the stove add a 1/2 cup of milk and 1 cup brown sugar. Reheat and pour over popcorn for great caramel corn.

Personal Notes:
This my family's traditional Christmas treat. Even if it doesn't turn out it's still really yummy. Get creative, most things taste really great with sugar and butter to pour over them.
