2 ½ to 3 lbs. beef roast
1 large onion chopped
1 large beef bouillon cube
2 bay leaves
⅛ t. Allspice
⅛ t. Nutmeg
¼ t. Cloves
Cornstarch and water to thicken gravy
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat and chopped onion in heavy skillet or pot. When brown, add enough water to cover meat. Add bay leaves, spices, salt, and pepper to taste and cook slow on low to medium heat until meat is tender. Thicken with cornstarch mixed with water. You can also cook this in a slow cooker after you brown the meat. Serve over noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.
