3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. cloves
1/2 t. ginger
1/2 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg and beat well. Sift together the flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt. Mix well and chill. Form dough into 1" balls and roll in granulated sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet 2" apart. Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes.
