1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 medium onion, finely chopped
¼ c + 2 T butter
¼ c flour
3 c chicken broth
2 c half and half
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp white pepper
½ c dry sherry
¼ tsp angostura bitters

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté mushrooms and onions in butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat for 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add broth, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.

Reduce heat to low, stir in remaining ingredients. Cook until just thoroughly heated, stirring frequently. Serve immediately.
