1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
Separate the yolk from the egg white in all of the eggs (only the egg yolks will be used). Place the egg yolks in a big bowl and beat them, using a fork or an egg beater. Add the condensed milk and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and vanilla and mix well. Put a round silver pan (or a Ilanera Flan pan) on top of the stove and heat using low heat. Put the granulated sugar in the mold and mix thoroughly until the solid sugar turns to liquid (caramel).Spread the caramel evenly in the pan. Wait five minutes, then pour the egg yolk and milk mixture into the pan. Cover the top of the pan using aluminum foil. Steam the mold for 30-35 minutes. After steaming, let the temperature cool, then refrigerate. Share and enjoy!

Personal Notes:
In the Philippines, Leche Flan (aka creme caramel or caramel custard) is the top dessert of all time, and on the dessert menu of most restaurants. This is a simple and easy version of the famous Filipino dessert.

I find it more convenient to use individual mold pans. Flan makers (Ilanera) are easily purchased on amazon.com or at other online sites.
