1 tbs butter
1 tbs flour
1 pinch of salt
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Melt flour, butter and salt over medium heat in saucepan.
Cook stirring constantly until well blended (about a minute).
The mixture should be blond in color and cook long enough to not taste like flour.
Reduce heat to medium low and add milk stirring constantly.
Boil for one minute to reach full thickening.

Cooking in a dark pan will give you dark rue.
