1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
¼ cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 egg
¼ cup shortening

Mix all together and throw in a pan. Bake at 425º for 20 to 25 minutes.
