1 pound ground beef (or I use ground deer meat)
1 chopped bell pepper
1 medium chopped onion
minced garlic to suit your taste
1 can petite tomatoes with juice
1 can pinto beans with juice (or Ranch Style beans with jalapenos if you like spicy)
1 package Williams chili mix
1 cup water
½ cup cornmeal
½ cup flour
¼ cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk (add more if mixture seems too thick to pour)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat, onions and pepper. Add garlic. Add tomatoes and beans. Mix chili mix with water. Bring the entire mixture to a boil and pour into a 2-quart casserole dish.

Mix together in a separate bowl: cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and milk (or you an use one package cornbread mix) and spoon it over the meat mix. Top with cheddar cheese if desired. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes.
