2 cups sugar (white)
1 cup milk
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup light corn syrup
1 1/4 Tbsp. vanilla
1 cup whipping cream

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugars, corn syrup, cream, milk and butter into kettle (1 gal size). Cook slowly, stirring occasionally to form ball stage (248 degrees). Remove from heat, add vanilla Pour into buttered 9 x 13 glass pan. Cool. When firm, cut into squares, using a heavy knife. Wrap each square. If desired, add 1/2 c. chopped walnuts with vanilla.
Note: takes about 2 hours or more to reach 248 degrees on moderate low heat. Do not allow to heat over 248 degrees, as the caramels become too hard.
