1 Tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable shortening (Momoo used "lard")
2/3 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until as fine as cornmeal. Add buttermilk all at once and stir until mixture rounds up as a ball. Knead until smooth and elastic (1 inch thick). Pinch off a piece of dough and roll in the palm of your hand until size desired. Then pat dough rolls to about 1 inch thick. You can also roll out dough and cut out. Place in greased pan and cook in oven at. 450º till lightly browned - about 15 minutes.

Traditional Family Recipe . My grandmother made these biscuits for breakfast every morning. Now you can purchase frozen biscuits and dry biscuit mix. All these are good, but they aren't the same as Momoo's biscuits! Love to all, Mimi
