2 cups flour
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening (Crisco)
2/3 cup buttermilk

extra flour for rolling out

Directions:
Directions:
Measure dry ingredients into bowl. Cut in shortening thoroughly until mixture looks like meal. Stir in almost all the buttermilk. If dough is not pliable, add just enough buttermilk to make a soft puffy easy to roll dough. Round up dough into a ball on lightly floured surface.
Knead lightly 20-30 times (about 30 seconds only).
Roll out dough a little less than ½ inch thick.
Cut with floured biscuit cutter or floured glass.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 450degrees,10-12 minutes.
