1/4 cup bacon drippings for vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups rice uncooked
1 pound lean ground beef
One large onion, chopped
One sweet green pepper, chopped
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1/4 cup green onions and tops chopped

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon powdered thyme
3 teaspoon sage
1/4 Cayanne pepper
1 Bay leaf
1 (14 1/2 oz.) Can whole tomatos
1 (6 oz) Can tomato sauce
1 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Fry meat and oil until browned. Add onions, celery, and green pepper. Cook until onions are transparent. Add rice and cook for four minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add remaining ingredients. Place in greased 9 x 13“ baking pan. Cover and seal with foil. Bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350° until rice is tender. Remove Bay leaf before serving
