3 c flour
1½ c shortening (Crisco)
1 tsp salt

1 egg
1 T white vinegar
7 T water (or about ½ cup)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, shortening and salt in a mixing bowl, cutting in the shortening with a pastry cutter or knife to form small, pea-sized lumps.

In a separate bowl, combine the egg, vinegar, and water together. Mix well. Add this mixture to the flour mixture.

Chill the dough before rolling out.

Makes 1 9-inch double crust, plus 1 single crust.

This recipe is from Agnes Donina, the mother of Judy Donina Wolfe, my former sister-in-law. Agnes made the best pie crust and it always turned out perfectly.
