2 cups sifted enriched flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cups shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons shredded lemon rind
2 teaspoons shredded orange rind
3 tablespoons orange juice

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Add shredded lemon and orange rinds and orange juice. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture; mix thoroughly. Shape into rolls and wrap in waxed paper or press into cookie mold. Chill until firm. Slice ¼ inch thick and bake on ungreased baking sheets at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes. Store in a loosely covered container. Makes about 7 ½ dozen cookies.
