2 cups sugar
½ cup white vinegar
¼ cup water

Boil to the hard crack stage. Pour onto a buttered plate; cool. While cooling the candy, take knife and turn edges in. If coloring is desire, drip 4 drops of food coloring into center of candy after pouring onto plate. Stretch with knives - not with hands!
