December 2016
Dear friends and family,
We hope this letter finds you well and that 2016 has been as good a year for you as it has for us. Here’s an update from the Carr chronicles….

Annemarie graduated from the University of Pittsburgh again in August with her BSN in nursing. She took a vacation after school ended with friends to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, but then returned to take her nursing licensure exam and is now a licensed RN in Pennsylvania. She accepted a job on a medical oncology unit at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and is loving it so far. As always she cheers for her favorite teams every week, the Pitt Panthers and has adopted the Pittsburgh Steelers as her team. Hail to Pitt!

Allison graduated from Temple University in May 2016 with a Bachelors of Business of Administration in Risk Management and Insurance. After graduation, Allison moved to Hoboken, NJ to start a full time job in Manhattan. She works at Marsh and McLennan servicing clients with financial products insurance. Since moving, Allison has become quite the New Yorker, enjoys experiencing what the city has to offer. Allison is a New York Giants fan. She and Uncle Doug (Dallas fan) attended the Dallas-Giants game in the Meadowlands this year and they had a blast!

Connor is a senior studying electrical engineering at Penn State University and will graduate in May of 2017. He continued as a research assistant at the PSU High Pressure Combustion Lab and has taken on proposal writing and several side projects working for the Materials Science Department. Over the summer Connor worked for GE Transportation in Erie, PA where GE manufactures locomotives for US and foreign use. In November, Connor accepted a job with W. L. Gore and Associates in the R&D facility in Newark, DE. He is thrilled as it is the company he wanted to work for. In his free time, he continues to make music and Penn State football his hobby and passion. He attended all the PSU home football games and the Big 10 championship game in Indianapolis which PSU won!

Sarah is in her sophomore year at Penn State-Altoona as a full-time nursing student. She moved off campus this year into a nice old house in a great neighborhood with may local residents. Turns out that location requires a lot of candy during Halloween with almost 200 trick or treaters! Sarah likes the house and she has great roommates that are also nursing students so they plan on staying in the same house next year. Since she is close to main campus she attends the PSU football games and is thrilled, along with Connor, on the football team’s trip to the Rose Bowl!

Chris and Clyde continue to work at Orbital ATK in Elkton, Maryland working on rockets and high speed propulsion systems. We both still support Scouting and are supporters and members of Longwood Gardens. In July, we helped Allison find an apartment in Hoboken, New Jersey. She found a great place two blocks from the Hudson River and about four blocks from the train station from which she commutes. Next in August, we helped Annemarie settle into her new house near UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Looks like Annemarie is becoming a “Yinzer” with her starting her 6th year in the Steel City! Among all of the college/moving activity, we wedged in a family vacation to Niagara Falls with visits to Erie and Pittsburgh on the way back to New London, PA. Otherwise, we spend most of our time getting the kids to where they need to be and on re-supply missions disguised as football tailgating at Penn State (Minnesota, Michigan State) and Pittsburgh (Penn State).

Merry Christmas from Clyde and Chris, Annemarie, Allison, Connor, and Sarah!`
