1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 stick butter
1 egg
1 lb. chopped dates
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 3/4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Use round cans as baking tins.

1) Add 1 1/2 c. boiling water to dates & raisins. Cool before continuining.
2) Cream butter with sugar. Add egg and vanilla.
3) Sift flour, baking soda, salt and set aside.
4) Add dates and raisins to butter mixture
5) Add dry ingredients & mix
6) Add walnuts
7) Fill cans to 1/2 full and bake at 350. Batter will rise to top of cans.
