1 cup soft butter
⅔ cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 ¼ cups flour
1 tsp nutmeg

Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
¼ cup melted butter
¼ tsp rum extract
1 to 2 tbsp. hot water

Cookie:
Heat oven to 375º. In a large mixing bowl combine butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Reduce the speed to low and add the flour and nutmeg. Beat 2 to 3 minutes. Place dough into a cookie press and press onto cookie sheets 1 inch apart. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until very lightly brown.

Glaze:
In a small bowl stir together the sugar, butter and extract. Stit in hot water to desired consistency. while still warm brush each cookie with the glaze. Sprinkle with colored sugar if desired.
