1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup cocoa
2 cups milk
2 eggs (seperated)
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 stick butter

Directions:

Mix sugar, flour, cocoa

Add milk

Cook over low heat until it begins to thicken

Separate eggs and mix a little of the hot mixture to the egg yellows

Add the eggs to the mixture and continue to cook until thick

Remove from heat

Add the vanilla and butter

Pout into a baked pie shell
Beat the egg white until forms a stiff peak. Put over the pie filling and baked in oven at 350º until brown

I use this basic recipe to make banana pudding. Omit the cocoa. Layer vanilla wafers in a baking dish with bananas. Pour the cooked mixture over the cookies and bananas. Do not make it as thick as for a pie

Also this mixture makes a great coconut pie. Omit the cocoa and add coconut
