4 egg yolks
1 cup milk
6 level tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 stick butter
1½ cups sugar
3 tablespoons flour
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg yolks with half of the sugar. Add melted butter and mix well.

In a separate small bowl, mix the other half of the sugar with the flour, salt and cocoa. Add a little hot water, only enough to dissolve. Add this to egg yolks, sugar and butter and mix well. Add milk and vanilla and mix well. (I use a whisk.) Pour into unbaked 9" pie shell and bake at 325º until firm, about 45 minutes in a pre-heated oven.

Cool and serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip if desired.
