2 Apples, peeled and sliced
⅓ c chopped pecans (optional)
½ c brown sugar packed
½ tsp cinnamon
2 - 17oz cans yams drained
¼ c margarine
2 c miniature marshmallows

Directions:
Directions:
Toss apples and nuts with brown sugar and cinnamon. Alternate layers of apples mixture and yams in a 1½ quart cassarole. Dot with margarine. Cover and bake at 350º for 35 to 40 minutes. Sprinkle marshmallows over yams and apples. Broil until lightly browned.

This has been a favorite holiday recipe for YEARS & YEARS . . . and several of my German friends now send back CASES of yams to Germany every time they come to visit since they can't get yams or sweet potatoes in Germany! I think that's the best endorsement ever!!
