3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup margarine
½ cup water
2½ cups flour
2 Tbsp cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1 cup finely chopped nuts
½ cup mini chocolate chips
2 apples, grated (about 2 cups)
1 Tbsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together eggs, sugar, margarine and water until fluffy. Sift together flour, cocoa, soda, and spices. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in nuts, chips, apples and vanilla. Spoon into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan or 9X13-inch pan. Bake at 325º for 60 to 70 minutes. Test with toothpick. This is a moist cake!

Variation: Apple Oatmeal
Pour 1½ cups boiling water onto 1 cup oats; stir and cool. Revise above to ½ cup shortening, substitute ½ cup brown sugar for ½ cup of the white sugar. Use 2 eggs, and ½ cup nuts. Delete cocoa. Bake at 350º for 40 minutes.
