1/2 cup soft butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar (judge by sweetness of fruit)
1 quart drained fruit (cherries, berries, or peaches)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Cream together butter, sugar 1/2 cup until fluffy.
Stir dry ingredients in alternately with milk.
Beat until smooth.
Pour into any 2 quart casserole or 9x13 pan.
Spoon fruit over top of batter, sprinkle with sugar (1/2 cup)
Pour fruit juice over top. Bake 45 to 50 minutes.
During baking the fruit juice will go to the bottom and a cake like layer forms on top.
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
