1 lb dry beans
1 medium onion, sliced
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup molasses
1 to 2 tsp dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
3-4 slices bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Place beans in large pan and cover with two inches of water. Soak beans overnight.
Drain beans and add fresh water to the pot until it just covers beans.
Cook beans on medium heat until just tender.
Drain beans.
Place onion on bottom of 2-quart casserole dish or bean pot.
Mix brown sugar, molasses, dry mustard and 2 cups hot water.
Pour beans and then juice until covers the beans. If necessary, add hot water until it's where it should be.
Place slices of bacon on top of beans
Bake covered at 250º for about 5-6 hours.
Uncover and bake until beans are tender and thickened - may take up to another 2 hours.
