500-800 g raw kanefe shredded dough (1 package)
200 g akkawai cheese diced
200 g haloumi cheese diced
200 g butter melted
Pistachios, crushed

If the above cheeses cant be found in middle east grocery store, mozzarella can be substituted

For syrup:
1 cup of water
1 cup of sugar
1 tbsp orange blossom water

Directions:
If using akkawi or haloumi cheese -soak overnight in a bowl of water. If using mozzarella skip soaking step. Preheat oven to oven to 300 degrees. Mix shredded with lots of butter until well coated. Split the butter coated kanefe into two parts. Spread out one half on parchment lined baking sheet. Top with diced cheese and cover with the other half of the kanefe. Bake until golden brown. To make syrup, place water, and sugar into saucepan-simmer on low heat until sugar is dissolved and then add orange blossom water.

Pour syrup, as desired over warm kanefe, sprinkle with crushed nuts and serve immediately.
