Crust:
1 stick of margarine, melted
1 c. AP Flour
1 c. Chopped pecans

1st Layer:
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. Sugar

2nd Layer:
1 pkg. jello instant pudding (chocolate, lemon, or other flavor)
1/2 large container of cool whip

Top Layer:
1/2 large container of cool whip
Chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Work well the 3 crust ingredients and press into a 13x9 baking dish and bake at 350º until brown and let cool.

1st Layer: Mix both ingredients well until thick and pour on cooled crust.

2nd Layer: Mix per package instructions, but use 1/2 c. less milk so that it will be thicker. Add 1/2 large container of cool whip to pudding and mix well. Pour it on.

Top Layer: Put rest of cool whip on top and sprinkle with chopped pecans.

As a little girl, we visited my daddy's family in Virginia each year. I remember going to a Mother/Daughter Banquet with mama at my great aunts church. We loved this dessert and mama asked for the recipe but the lady didn't give her the name of it, so after that, it was always called Margie's Thing or The Virginia Special.
