1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 stick, softened, unsalted butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 and line pans with parchment paper.

In small bowl whisk together flour and baking soda.

Beat butter and sugar in large bowl until blended.

Add egg, salt and vanilla to large bowl and beat until well combined.

Slowly add flour mixture to large bowl until all ingredients are mixed and well combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

Drop dough by heaping teaspoon 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes. Let cool on rack.

This recipe is from the Joy of Cooking cookbook. The cookies are thin, chewy and buttery. (which Luke loves!) If you want thicker cookies, add flour to batter until dough is desired consistency.
