¼ cup butter
5 pounds red cabbage - finely cut
½ cup white vinegar
½ cup sugar
1 Tbls salt

Directions:
Directions:
Brown butter in a kettle and add sliced / chopped cabbage. Stir well
Add vinegar, sugar and salt. Simmer 2 - 3 hours

I've never made this, but for the record ... this is how it is made
This is a standard Danish vegetable dish. It can be easily bought in a grocery store - even in the USA.
It has a tart pickled flavor that by itself, might be a bit overwhelming. But when served with other dishes it is excellent.
