1 package of yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
1 Tbls sugar
1 cup scalded milk
2 tsp salt
3 Tbls sugar
4-6 Tbls shortening
1 egg - well beaten
6 or more cups sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Pour water over yeast. Add 1 Tbls Sugar. Stir and let stand.
Pour scalded milk in mixing bowl. Add salt and sugar.
Add shortening in milk.

When liquid is lukewarm, add the yeast mixture and 3 cups flour Beat until smooth.

Take the egg and beat with a whip. Add to flour mixture Add 3 more cups of flour.
Knead until elastic Let rise in warm place until double in bulk

Punch down. Make into rolls by rolling small sections into balls.
Form clover leafs with 3 small balls in each "cupcake" style pan.
Let dough rise again.

Bake about 375-400º for 15-20 minutes.
*The little balls will meld together and make 1 cloverleaf roll.
