Custard Mix

¾ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
6 extra large eggs (I use large)
5½ cups milk (I use 2%)
1½ tsp. good vanilla


Pudding Mix:

½ to ¾ pounds stale bread (French)
¼ cup pecans chopped and toasted, ( I use Cran-raisins or cherries also)
4 ounces melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Break bread into medium or small pieces. Add Pecans and melted butter. Stir and pour into well buttered 9X13 glass baking dish. Pour custard mix over bread and cover. I refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350º and place glass baking dish inside of a larger pan with water in it and bake for 50-60 minutes.

I use lemon sauce or whiskey sauce to pour over while warm. I have served with Ice Cream also.
