After a really long, tiring day, who wants to slave away in the kitchen making dinner?

Don't try to decide what you're in the mood for. You've already made enough decisions throughout the day. And, since nobody ever really knows what they're in the mood for anyway, what good would it do you to have to make one more decision?

Simply go to Yelp.com, type “Food” in the “Find” Bar, and your “Zip Code” in the “Near” Bar. Knowing your zip code is very important because you want to make sure that you're not driving all over town to collect your grub.

Go into "Filters" and search by “Highest Rated” because, after a day like today, you just do not have the time or patience for a subpar dining experience. And, why try to guess if a restaurant is going to be any good when people who actually care about the accuracy of this stuff have already done it for you?

Leave your house and get there early. If they say 25 minutes, chances are that your food is probably going to be ready in 15. And worst case, if you arrive and your food isn't ready, you're guaranteeing yourself the chance to get your food fresh and hot - right out of the kitchen! The last thing you want to do is show up late and pick up cold takeout.

Get all the extras. Utensils! Condiments! Plates! This is critical. Get everything you can, as it will save you the hassle of cleaning later. Who wants to order takeout, only to come home and have to start pulling out forks, spoons, napkins and sauces out of the kitchen? If you get all the extras, you can simply throw everything into the to-go bag when you're finished eating, rather than having to put things back into the kitchen and start cleaning plates and silverware.

Take out No-No’s

Parking in the regular lot.
How many times have you gone to a packed restaurant, on a normal night, thinking you've found yourself a front parking spot, only to realize it is reserved for to go? That might have happened to you before, but not tonight! Now the tables have turned; now it is your night - your time to shine! Take that front spot with pride and walk in with to-go swag... you've earned it!

Ordering too close to closing time

A commonly known fact is that restaurant kitchens start becoming less efficient the later it gets into the night. A good rule to follow is NOT to order if it is within one hour until closing time. Think about it, you didn't want to cook one meal today but the guy on the grill has been cooking for hours and hours already; there is too much room for error at this stage in the game to risk your meal on a tired kitchen. Look for the next best option.

Personal Notes:
Preserve burgers, chicken sandwiches and other types of troublesome items by poking holes in all corners of your takeout container. This will allow enough heat to escape so that your fries and buns do not get super soggy during transportation, but the box is still able to retain enough heat so that your food doesn't become really cold. You can also take the top piece of bread/bun completely OFF of the sandwich for extra precaution. Sounds funny, but it works! #thermodynamics

In all seriousness, don't be afraid to go away from the norm. The decisions and choices you make should be based on what you feel are right and NOT by how you think others will react. Everybody is entitled to his or her opinion, but his or her opinion isn't entitled to change you from being you.
