2 cups flour
1½ cups water
1 tablespoon seasoned salt
6 medium green tomatoes, slightly turning pinkish
2½ cups saltine cracker crumbs
vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
In a shallow bowl, make a batter by whisking together flour, water and salt until smooth. In another separate shallow bowl, place finely crumbled cracker crumbs.

Slice each tomato into ¼ inch slices. Dip slices into flour mixture batter, then into crumbs, coating evenly on all sides. In large skillet, heat about a ¼ inch of cooking oil. Add tomatoes and fry for approximately two minutes on each side or until golden brown, turning once. Do not allow tomatoes to touch while frying. Serve hot with white cream gravy or Ranch Salad Dressing.
