2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
 

Directions:
Directions:
Boil first four ingredients for 1 minute. Add vanilla and remove from heat. Beat until icing reaches spreading consistency. Placing pan atop a bowl of ice will speed the cooling/thickening processing.
