1 c sugar
1 c butter, softened
3 T cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 lg egg
3 c all purpose flour
1½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt

Directions:
In a large bowl, combine first 5 ingredients; blend well. Stir in remaining ingredients, blend well.

Chill dough for easier handling.

Preheat oven to 400º.

Roll dough, ⅓ at a time, on a floured surface to ⅛ inch thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. If desired, sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are light brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
