4 medium fresh slicing or field tomatoes
1 lb. fresh mozzarella
10 to 15 fresh basil leaves

Good quality extra virgin olive oil
Kosher salt
Balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella and arrange on a platter; alternating tomato, mozzarella; tomato, mozzarella, etc. Place basil leaves on top.
Sprinkle with Kosher salt.
Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
Serve at room temperature.

This salad is great in the summer when tomatoes are really good.

Traditionally, Caprese Salad is dressed with only olive oil & salt. The Italians do not add the balsamic glaze. I have done this as I find the balsamic gives the dish a nice flavour "pop". Feel free to leave it out if you wish.
