4 large firm ripe tomatoes
¾ tsp sugar
1 clove garlic
2 green onions minced or 2 Tbls minced chives
1 tsp dried oregano - crushed
2 cups finely grated breadcrumbs
4 Tbls melted butter
Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Cut tomatoes in half. Salt each lightly and sprinkle with pinch of sugar.
Combine breadcrumbs, melted butter, garlic, green onions & oregano.
Mound over tomato halves.
Place tomatoes under broiler just until golden on top.

Bake at 350º for about 20 minutes - until tomatoes are done - but not collapsed

Makes 8 servings. Beautiful & delicious on a plate!
