Preheat oven to 400º
FILLING for 9 inch crust.:
8 c sliced and cored peeled apples
2/3 c granulated sugar
1/4 c all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 T lemon juice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt

TOPPING:
1/2 c unsalted butter, softened
1 c all-purpose flour
2/3 c packed brown sugar
1 T granulated sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Prepare a 9-inch pie crust for baking.
2. In a large bowl, toss filling ingredients. Pour into the pie plate, mounding apples toward center.
3. To prepare Topping,in medium bowl, use a pastry blender or fingers to mix butter, 1 c flour and brown sugar until a crumb forms. Sprinkle evenly over top of pie. Sprinkle 1 T granulated sugar on top.
4. Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until pie crust and crumb topping are deep golden brown and filling begins to bubble. Transfer to a cooling rack to cool
