1 cup shortening
one 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
2 T grated orange
2 cups sifted flour
1 pkg. choc. chip
Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar, and cheese.
Add eggs, orange rind and vanilla. Beat well.
Sift together flour and salt.
Add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
Stir in chips.
Drop by tsp..
Cool a minute before removing from pan.

There is no time or temperature on this recipe. So I would say 350 for ten minutes

I never sifted my flour: Even though I still have a flour sifter in my kitchen drawer. The only good thing my sifter was for was Scotty used to push it around the kitchen floor when he was little. I think he pretended it was a truck. I am not sure why I still keep it. For nostalgia sake I guess. Grandma Miles typed me a bunch of recipes when Dad and I got married. A lot of those recipes I have added in this book. I have just typed them in as she had them. And sifting your flour is just what you did!
