2 apples peeled and cored
1½ cups milk, almond milk or coconut milk
1½ cups water
1 cup uncooked steel cut oats (can use gluten free steel cut oats)
2 Tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
2 Tbsp butter cut into small pieces
½ tsp cinnamon

Optional garnishes: chopped nuts, raisins, toasted coconut

Directions:

Generously coat the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or coconut oil.

Add all ingredients and stir.

Cook on low for 7-8 hours.

Spoon into bowls and top with desired toppings and enjoy!

This is a great recipe to put in your crock pot before you head to bed. Its so nice to wake up to this in the morning and it smells good too! You can double the recipe as well. Just store leftovers in the refrigerator.
