2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter
1 egg
1/3 cup sour cream
1/3 cup buttermilk
Cream for whipping or prepared whipped topping
Fresh strawberries, sliced and tossed with small amount of sugar

Preheat oven to 450º. Into a large bowl, sift together dry ingredients. With a pastry blender, cut in butter. In a small bowl, whisk together egg, milk and sour cream and add to the dry ingredients. Stir just enough to moisten. Spread dough into a pie pan. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly brown. Cut into wedges, split and butter. Top with sliced strawberries and whipped cream - yum!!!!

This recipe comes from a previous boyfriend's family (shhhhh...don't tell Dad - ha!) who made a practice of having large and leisurely Sunday afternoon supper. They always cooked the family favorite recipes and all chipped in after the meal to do the clean up. Following that were games and tea and then evening church. I loved all of the tradition involved.
