Crust
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 3/4 cup flour
1 cup quick oats
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Filling
4 1/2 cups chopped apples
3 tbsp flour
1- 14 ounce package of caramels
3 tbsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 400.
Cream butter, shortening, and brown sugar. Add flour, oats, salt, and baking soda. Mix well, set 2 cups aside. Press remaining mix in bottom of a 13X9 pan.
Toss apples with flour and spoon over crust. Melt caramels and butter over low heat. Drizzle over apples, and top with remaining oat mix. Bake at 400 for 25-30 minutes.
