1/2 pound pecans
1/2 pound walnuts
1 cup white sugar
Dash of salt
2 large egg whites, stiffly beaten
1/2 cup butter (one cube)

1. Preheat oven 275º

2. Toast nuts for 10 minutes on jelly roll pan at 275º. Set aside to cool.

3. Melt butter on jelly roll pan (About 3 minutes)

4. Increase oven temperature to 325 º.

5. Fold sugar, salt, pecans, and walnuts into stiffly beaten egg whites.

6. Spread nut mixtures over butter.

7. Bake for 30 minutes; turn nuts every 10 minutes using a spatula to coat nuts well.

8. Remove from oven and cool.

Makes approximately 6 Cups.
