1 egg
2 cans condensed French onion soup, divided
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 tsp salt
pinch pepper
1 1/2 lb ground beef
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp mustard

Serve with mashed potatoes or over hot, cooked noodles.

In a large bowl, beat egg. Stir in 1/3 cup of soup, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Add beef and gently mix. Shape into six oval patties. Brown in a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes each side. Remove and set aside. Whisk together the water and flour and add to skillet. Cook for a minute or so til it thickens. Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and remaining soup. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir 2 - 3 minutes. Return patties to skillet. Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. Serve patties and gravy over mashed potatoes or hot noodles.

Note: if the gravy is not quite thick enough, mix together some corn starch and water. Gradually add to gravy til desired thickness.
